Karakul could be the great-grandfather of old ancient and primative sheep, with ties back to the first domestication of livestock as far back as 1400 BC.. Karakul are a multi-coloured fleeced sheep, and not to be outdone by colour, these sheep can have multiple horns of 2, 4 or 6!
I am in LOVE with this fleece. I washed some up and lock spun right away. The third photo shows the yarn I got from this fun.
This exceptional fleece has many variations soft, and hairy, with reddish brown tips on tawny brown locks. Staple length is about 3 to 6 inches and 25 to 36 microns.
Truly a unique fleece!
Offered in 1 oz. portions.
Please see my store policy on **actual shipping charges only**. For multiple items there is likely to be an overage from calculated to actual shipping. I will happily refund any amounts in excess of $2.00 over actual. Please convo me prior to purchase if you wish for an estimate or separate listing.
Wonderful fibre, as usual. I am a repeat customer because I am always so happy with the wool and the service.
Given the wide variation in shipping costs, I have the high end listed as a safeguard for my costs. If for example someone were to purchase 2 ounces of fleece the shipping cost would be representative of actual. If someone purchased 12 ounces of fleece the shipping cost would likely be too high. For any shipping overages of $2 or more than the actual shipping cost, I will happily refund the difference, and have done so for any applicable sales. Please convo me if you wish to have a custom listing set up for specific purchases and possible combined shipping costs.
