Transylvania is a 2-color, no purl, top-down shawl knit with fingering weight yarn.
The main section of the shawl is knit in alternating stripes of 2 rows of each of 2 colors.
The mosaic slip stitch pattern helps break up potential pooling of colors if a self-striping or hand-painted yarn is used as the contrasting color.
The edging is simple crochet, however, the same stitches can be accomplished using knitting needles -- a photo tutorial and detailed instructions are included.
The written instructions include the stitch counts for each repeat of the pattern with convenient check-off boxes to help keep track of the pattern.Complete written and charted instructions are included. Full pattern is 7 pages. The final 2 pages are a tutorial to complete the edging with knitting needles. Those who are proficient in simple crochet will not need to print the final 2 pages. Also, page 5 is a chart, so knitters who prefer to knit from written instructions will not need to print this page.
