**The Felted Head Doll Charlie Bo**
With this e-book you can create a 45 cm Charlie Bo felted head doll yourself which is the result of a cooperation between Mariengold and 1000 Rehe. This offer only provides the e-book with the tutorial and the patterns. The material for making the doll is available in a seperate listing here in my shop.
Naturally, the Charlie Bo's head is particularly striking. In comparison to rather simple cloth dolls, it is shaped with much richer details and has features such as a neck, a chin, cheeks, eye sockets, dimples, a nose and a mouth.
Charlie Bo’s hair is made out of curls from Wensleydale sheep. Its eyes are embroidered and they have pretty sweeping eyelids. The mouth and cheeks are colored using a water-insoluble watercolor pencil. And Charlie Bo can wiggle its ears!
The doll has a slim, rather delicate body with easily movable arms, legs that have been attached to the torso from the outside, a slightly rounded belly, a bottom with two little cheeks, on which the doll can sit unaided, a bellybutton, nipples and dimples at the elbows and the knees. The hands and feet are filled with granulate material, so that they hang somewhat heavier.
Speaking of feet, they even have soles and love to wear shoes! We have created leather shoes complete with laces especially for them, which fit perfectly and will not get lost, guaranteed. Of course, Charlie Bo does not only wear shoes, but also a convertible overall, which can be worn both as a dress and as pants.
The recommended age group for dolls like Charlie Bo is 6 years and up. Felted head dolls are perfect for school children and for adults who take joy in very unique dolls and/or collect them.
**Level of Difficulty and Requirements**
This tutorial is for doll-making enthusiasts who take pleasure in a challenge, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. It offers a good introduction to making felted doll heads, imparts new techniques and patterns, and whets one’s appetite to broaden and refine his/her skill set.
Basic knowledge in sewing and needle felting are advantageous, but not necessary, as the most important techniques are explained in the tutorial.
However, basic knowledge in crocheting will be needed for the creation of the wig.
My e-books are detailed, professionally laid out directions for the creation of dolls according to Mariengold designs. They contain step by step explanations with lots of pictures and detailed descriptions, clear illustrations and explanations of the most important sewing techniques, patterns for several doll sizes and for first clothing like underwear or diapers, extensive notes and sources on materials and tools, background information and stories from the Mariengold studio and of course lots of encouraging words for your work.
This tutorial and the patterns included therein are protected by copyright, and may be used for private purposes only. Thus, you may create as many dolls as you wish using this tutorial, to give to your children, grandchildren, friends, family, neighbors, etc.
However, if you wish to sell the dolls, or to use this tutorial for your doll making classes, you will need to purchase the appropriate license for commercial use which is also available here in my shop.
