This strong, durable fabric has a multitude of uses; Peruvians use them as rugs to sit on, as slings to carry babies in, or as table cloths and throws. They also make all manner of handicrafts with them such as bags, belts, shoes, purses and clothing. Be inspired and have a go yourself!
The vibrant colours are typical of the Andes and the designs are inspired by the symbols used by Peru's fascinating ancient cultures. Both sides shows the same pattern.
This beautiful fabric has finished edges. It is made from an acrylic and polyester mix.
The lighter blue fabric (1) measures 130 cm x 127 cm (51 x 50 inches) The darker blue fabric (2) measures 120 cm x 126 cm (47 x 49.5 inches)
This fabric was made in Puno, Peru but they are also made in Bolivia (Peru and Bolivia were once one and the same!), hence our title!
