It has a 1/8" thick, 4.5" long blade for efficient, versatile cutting ability. It is strong enough to handle a wide variety of tasks including light to medium batoning, while maintaining an efficient blade profile for finer tasks.
Included in the price is a quality sheath. I hand build and hand stitch the leather sheaths from scratch. I make the Kydex sheaths from scratch as well, forming, riveting, and finishing the material.
The knife base price of $150 includes a standard pouch style sheath. The knife pictured has Cocobolo Dymondwood handles, with a leather scabbard style double snap sheath. This type of sheath is $15 extra. If you don't see a variation that you would like, message me and ask!
All my knives are built from scratch. I begin construction with a blank bar of steel, blocks or sheets of handle material, and any other raw materials needed for the knife. My forged spring steel knives are created from reclaimed vehicle spring steel. Each knife is made by hand; in fact the only time these knives leave my hand or are not under a tool directly in my hand is during the heat treating process. Even then, I quench each knife individually while holding it with tongs as it comes out of the forge during hardening.
I cut and shape handle material from blank pieces of stock, and often from natural materials harvested directly from nature. The handles are secured with epoxy and solid hardware. Each knife is truly one of a kind. While I offer specific models, you can be assured you own the only Williams Built knife exactly like it.
I've been using knives for years. I'm always thinking of improvements to make a better blade. Because of this, I have come up with several of my own designs. The custom blades shown represent years of knife use and tweaking to put all of the best features together.

Returns & exchanges
Warranty, Refund, Warnings, and Proper Use - Please Read:
Note: "FCF" = Fire Creek Forge
-All knives are shipped razor sharp! Please exercise due caution.
-If your Williams Built Blades knife breaks or fails due to faulty workmanship or defective materials, I will replace it free of charge. This does not include normal wear, abuse, lack of maintenance, or unintended use of the knife.
-I do not accept returns on knives, except I will consider on a case by case basis knives that have not been used and are in the same condition, within seven business days from the date of purchase. (THIS WILL NOT APPLY TO CUSTOM DESIGN ORDERS.) If I decide to accept a knife back under these circumstances, I may require some proof of the condition of the knife. If I receive the knife back and it is not in the condition agreed on, your refund amount will be adjusted accordingly at my discretion, up to and including no refund at all, and your knife being shipped back to you. As much as it would be nice to offer refunds at the drop of a hat, I am not able to do that. Each knife has a lot of time into it. Once purchased, the money is a part of the minimal funds to re purchase supplies and operating costs, as well as feed my family. I cannot currently accommodate refunding monies in that manner.
-Even "stainless steel" is sometimes prone to corrosion or rust, but non-stainless steels (such as high carbon and tool steels) require attention to cleaning, drying and oiling as needed. If you intend to use the knife in extreme conditions (i.e.: salt water climates, rain forest, etc.) extra care will likely be required to maintain your carbon steel knife.
-Carbon and tool steels acquire a colored finish or patina with use over time. This can help inhibit rust, but is not a substitute for regular care.
-Natural handle materials are more prone to wear and the elements than synthetic materials. If you have a wood handled knife it may need maintenance from time to time. Boiled linseed oil is recommended for this. Clean the wood, rub oil on generously and let set overnight. Repeat if needed.
-Knives should not be stored in leather sheaths as this can encourage corrosion. If your sheath becomes damp, it should be dried thoroughly as soon as possible before further use.
Use With Ferrocerium Rods: There is a reason (most) ferro rods com with a separate striker, and it is preferred that you use that or another striker such as a section of hacksaw blade. The cutting edge should never be used to strike any type of flint or ferro rod on any knife. The spine (back) of the knife can be used as a striker in a pinch and most FCF knives are capable of this. However, this will leave evidence on the spine of your knife, including possible small nicks in the steel of the knife. Done properly, this will never result in structural damage to your knife. Aesthetic damage resulting from this kind of use is not covered by the WilliamsBuilt warranty.
