Granny Cheryl developed a crochet pattern for the "new" wooden hangers. She has agreed to offer her pattern through our store. Here's a sample . . .
"The shape of the wooden hanger varies from nearly 2" in the center to a narrow 5/8" along the sides and back out to 1" on the ends. The cover needs to be different than a straight rectangle to meet that shape. The design of this crochet pattern requires finding the center - stretching the cover to keep a sharp edge (for years!) and to obtain the lovely "fan" look at the center of the hanger."
Granny's pattern is ready for immediate download. They can be made for ladies and men alike. Perfect for the lightest intimates or a heavy winter jacket and won't slip off! Even the teens love them for the cotton knit tee shirts to maintain the perfect neck. Another advantage by the shaping of the cover has been that the cover remains tight and keeps it's shape. Due to the softness of the yarn even the softest shoulder area doesn't get a mark when hung to dry. These hangers are coveted by anyone lucky enough to be on Granny's gift list. She has gotten requests from strangers! Unfortunately she can't make enough for everyone so the next best thing is to have your own pattern and start a tradition in your family.
Different colors for his and hers or the favorite colors of the girls and boys. So easy and the perfect gift! Granny's family can't get enough! Get adventurous, use camo colors for the hunter or fisherman, white and black for wedding gifts (change colors for the last row and crab stitch), variable yarns for fun and let your imagination wander! Granny even uses scraps for trim. You can add little embellishments for your own touch.
As always, we will forward questions to Granny(she's old school and doesn't have a computer) and get the answers back to you as quickly as we can.
