I love goats. And really, who doesn't in this world of cutesy baby goat videos proliferating on this here internet machine? Truthfully though, the goat represents more than lulzy cuteness and reaches for me into the greater realms of my own personal practice. The goat is representative of the left hand path, of the devil, of witches, depicted in the baphomet and in heavy metal. The rectangular pupils of the goat see much, and it is for this reason that I have decided to make patches celebrating this lovely being.
This patch is printed onto reclaimed black canvas and measures roughly 6 x 6 inches.
Each patch made by oldblackgoat is hand printed in Kamloops, BC, Canada, in my kitchen, using reclaimed materials for the majority of the printing process (obviously save from the ink and what not). Using reclaimed fabric for the printing is a big part of what oldblackgoat means to me in that I believe that breathing life into olde things is important and transformative. What was once an old ream of fabric is now witchcraft set into textiles.
