My patterns are written with the intention of appealing to all skill levels. They contain written instructions, with stitch explanations in the abbreviations section. Also diagrams and photographs are included to help as much as possible with construction of the item featured in each pattern.
The shawl is worked from the outside inwards. The outer section of squares is worked entrelac style, in a V shape, before the central section is “filled-in” with a long or extended Tunisian crochet hook.
The squares are made one at a time along a foundation chain. Starting at the centre point and working in rows from one side to the other making a V shape. The stitches used are Tunisian knit stitch extended (i.e. Tunisian knit stitch plus one chain), chain, Tunisian simple stitch reversed.
The central or main part is later worked, using Tunisian simple stitch reversed and knit stitch, by picking up the stitches from the internal edges of the V shape.
The photographs illustrate the shawl made with a 5.50mm hook and Senses Lace by Stylecraft, (80% acrylic, 20% mohair, 250m/273yds, 50g).
