Item details

----- Important -----
This listing is for JUST THE DECALS and chains/buttons on Kamina's cape! This is a do it yourself kit where you add the decals on to any red cape you want.
Please go to this listing for a finished cape: https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/235656075/kaminas-cape

----- Details -----
These kits are perfect for the do it yourself cosplayer who just needs the supplies. This kit includes 100% polyester per-cut in the shape of: 1 skull, 2 glasses, 2 six foot lengths of flames, 2 gold metal chains, the 4 gold buttons that go on the ends and a small bag of scrap fabric to test your irons heat (if the iron is too hot it will burn the fabric).

----- More Information -----
Skill level required for this kit: Best suited for someone familiar with how fabric adhesive works and how fabric behaves with heat. Kits can be applied by almost anyone using iron on adhesive. The majority of the application (based on how I do it) are simple but tedious tasks that take a good bit of time and patience. I estimate the process from start to finish (based on how long it takes me) will take about 4-6 hours.

----- What Else is Required -----
What you would need to go with this kit would be some low or regular strength iron on adhesive (about $3 at any fabric store or section), snaps for the chains (optional but recommended), an iron with adjustable settings, hot glue gun and a cape. All of these extra materials (and even pictures of the products I use) are listed in my decal directions. Any cape 12 feet or less in length around the base will work with these decals.

----- I Have Application Directions -----
A downloadable PDF of detailed step by step instructions with lots of pictures for how to apply these items to your cape is linked below and will only cost $0.50 to cover my fees for that listing. The pictures in that guide are little outdated since I changed the style of my flames, but it is still very useful and I recommend downloading this if you are unsure in any way how to apply these materials to your cape or get stuck when applying them on your own. I will include the list from above of the extra materials needed with the application instructions and feel free to send me a message if you ever get lost or need a little extra guidance while putting the kit on your cape.

----- Care Information -----
PLEASE READ
These decals are hand wash and air dry only! I do not recommend you iron these decals after they are applied to your cape, but if you have to, use caution when ironing for two reasons 1: Polyester is very heat sensitive and will melt and or burn if your iron is too hot. I recommend placing your iron on the lowest setting possible (nylon is best) and like any fabric, test a small area not seen when worn to see how it reacts before attempting to iron the whole thing. 2: The adhesive I recommend for decal application is extremely responsive to heat and will cause your decals to shift when exposed to hot temperatures like in a dryer or under an iron. I recommend not rubbing the iron over the decals but instead blotting it by setting the iron on the area for a few seconds then removing it to move to the next area.

I do not own Gurren Lagann, I am just another fan like you who loves making props and costumes.

FAQs

I am limited on what I can make for custom orders. If something similar to what you want is already in my shop chances are I can make it. If you are unsure feel free to contact me!

The common question is they planned on using the pistol for both conventions and photo shoots so they were torn about which style to get. My recommendation about that because the tip cannot be removed you choose the color based on what it will be used for most. An orange tipped pistol clearly meets convention safety guidelines without modifications where as gun with a matching tip is nice and pretty for photo shoots. You can also use orange electrical or masking tape (so it wont hurt the paint) on the end of a matching tipped pistol so when you go to conventions it is acceptable. Orange electrical tape can be found for about $4 at Home Depot, Lowes and other hardware stores.

This depend on the item, more detailed versions of this are also in item descriptions. Pistols: The batteries in the pistol tend to get knocked out of place when the pistol is dropped or if it takes a hard hit. Just open the battery compartment and push them back into place for the toy to work again. Water is not kind to this gun, be careful in wet weather. Large Props: Large props are constructed from pvc pipe and insulation foam so they cannot stand up to heavy abuse. The body is strong but not indestructible. Water is not kind to this hand made weapon, take precautions to cover the weapon if you plan on being out in wet weather. Capes and Decals: Hand wash and air dry only! I do not recommend you iron. See listing for more information.

New York and California have a law that prohibits the sale of toy fire arms within the state. That includes online sales. To protect myself and to protect you I do not sell any weapons to people with a New York or California address. As for international sales, because customs is so tricky and prop weapon laws vary from country to country (they can even vary within a country), I do not sell prop weapons of any kind to anyone outside of the United States for any reason.
