Item details

Here is a Kodak No.2 Folding Autographic Brownie camera in its original leather carrying case. This camera was patented March 3, 1914 and was made in the USA by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. This model was in production from 1915 to 1926. The camera appears to be complete and the bellows is intact. It opens and closes smoothly. The "autographic" cameras had a metal flap on the back of the camera with a metal stylus that was used to write directly on the film. The writing appeared in white when the film was developed. This camera still has the original stylus which is usually lost over the years.
The black leather case has a top and bottom strap, a flap with a brass closure with the company EKC initials. The flap has a tear on the right side. Beneath the flap the case is embossed with "1A Pocket Kodak Series ll, 1A Kodak Series III, 1A Pocket Kodak, Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester NY, Patented Mar. 3, 1914, Made in USA."
The camera has a circle on the back that reads "Use Film No. A116."

Average review
I'm in love with this camera. It's in great condition, just as described. I'm glad I went with a camera that came with the original leather case (it's really cool, and also protects the camera), and had the original stylus too (the stylus has so much detail in it!). I've spent hours just playing with the camera. Not even taking pictures (I don't have film for it)--literally just pulling it apart, seeing how the aperture functions and what the different levers do, and being mesmerized by the viewfinder. The camera was delivered promptly and well-protected in the shipping box. I'm super happy with my purchase, and would recommend anyone with a fascination for old technology check one of these out. :)
