Item details

These beautiful Micro Double Horn 15mm carved mother of pearl shell crescent beads come as an earring pair, each drilled with a 1mm hole top to bottom through the mid section.

They're carved both sides with a smooth, curved surface in the same shape as one of my most popular bead designs, making them a sought after jewelry supplies item.

They work out to be the same price as the 20mm version of these beads because they're so small and fiddly for the carvers to make

They're predominantly white in colour, and are also available in this size in bone and black horn as single beads, drilled and undrilled.

PayPal is my preferred method of payment. Don't have it? You can still pay that way using your credit card. Just click on the PayPal icon at checkout and follow the prompts.

BACK STORY
Mekepung or bull races are held in the west Bali regency of Jembrana from July to October each year.

Madurese migrants introduced the sport to celebrate the end of the rice harvest, and it has become a tourist attraction for one of the least visited regencies on the Island of the Gods.

While I'm not a fan of the use of animals for this type of sport and have never actually seen one of these events, the races are said to be thrilling contests between teams of two young water buffalo harnessed to a chariot.

The chariot is ridden by a jockey who holds onto the bulls' tails as they career down a 2km race course, kicking up dust and sweat.

The water buffalo used in these races are said to be treated with great care, and are fed elaborate diets containing "all sorts of wonderful potions and secret ingredients".

Most of the races happen outside the regency capital of Negara, next to a river estuary in the location of Parancak.

Exactly as described in the image! They are absolutely beautiful. Shipping was also quick and customer service is wonderful :) the seller refunded me a modest amount for overpayment of shipping cost. Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed or mind at all if they decided to keep the extra cash, but the fact that they did it makes me think of the seller as trustworthy and honest, and I truly appreciate that! Will be a returning customer!
