Item details

This selection is an indispensable immune-stimulating herb that adds unique beauty to your garden. Originating in Brazil, this low-lying champion resembles something out of prehistoric times.
By continually harvesting the herb, you keep it producing its “button” flowers. Let it get large, then cut back HARD, let it grow back, then cut back again and again. This gets the most medicine from the plants.
We are proudly non-certified and truly organic.

Please note: As you can see in the photo above, there is light colored plant material (chaff) and dark colored seeds. We are unable to separate the chaff from the seeds because they are extremely lightweight. We do our very best to make sure you have 50 of the actual seeds in your packet.

All photos are from our own organic gardens and not all photos have our watermark.

These seeds are from the very plants that are grown and used in our Herbedicinals products as well. They are open-pollinated, truly organic, and non-gmo. Grown on land that has been lovingly and sustainably cultivated, and tediously harvested by our very own hands. Germination rates will not disappoint!

We are proudly non-certified and truly organic. We do not agree with the backward practice that farmers and growers should jump through hoops to prove they are not using harmful chemicals in their products. On the contrary, we fully believe that the ones to do the proving of safety are those who do use them. Additionally, it is clear to us that the certified organic label has become essentially meaningless over the years, as the guidelines still allow for organic brands to use pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. That is not good enough for us, or for our customers. We are truly organic.

Our gardens are weeded by hand and pests are picked off one by one by hand, by hose, or even with pruners if they’re big enough. We employ companion planting to help deter unwanted pests, depending on the situation we sometimes use our own homemade liquid mixture of hot peppers, cinnamon, and other such ingredients from our own gardens. Organic neem oil is also used on a regular basis. The soil we use in our pots and gardens is built from our own compost in which only organic material is used, a reliable organic source of horse manure builds our gardens, as well.

FAQs

Our web site has full details on how to germinate your seeds or care for your plants. Please visit www.thefreemanfamilyfarm.com and browse to your product.

Absolutely not, and we never will be. What a backward practice having companies prove they're not using harmful pesticides and herbicides . We believe that it should be the opposite - companies that sell products with potentially harmful chemicals should be the ones jumping through hoops.

We are very careful about what we bring into our gardens. We have a close friend who provides us with abundant organic horse manure (meaning her horses only eat organic plants and feed.) That manure is used in new garden plots for building soil and bringing in the worms. We do not use ANY commercially made herbicides and pesticides - rather, we hand-pull weeds, mulch our garden beds, manually seek and destroy pests, and make our own proprietary sprays with botanicals and organic neem. We don't use any commercial chemicals on our land outside of garden areas. We also have our own compost area created from our organic kitchen scraps. Please check our website for blog posts regarding our practices. www.thefreemanfamilyfarm.com

Before planting your seeds, please refer to the label on the product you received. There you will find basic instructions and a link to our website for full details. In order to assist you from afar, we will need detailed photos and a narrative from you in order to paint a picture. You can't just throw things willy-nilly in the ground or pots and have success. Many seeds need special conditions. We provide all you need to succeed. We are not responsible for grower errors but will bend over backward to help you succeed. Not until all avenues are explored will we consider a replacement or refund - and this is determined on an individual basis.
