Item details

Here is a wonderful booklet put out in 1944 showing homemaker's how to crochet Doilies, Tablerunners and Placemats. There are also directions on making a bread tray doily.

There are over a dozen different patterns from dainty to sturdy, complete with what type of thread to use, the right crochet hook you'll need and step by step instructions.

There are 23 pages to this booklet and it's in good condition. Being over 70 years old it does have one issue, the front and back covers have lifted away from the original binding, but they are both intact on the top half.

This booklet, "Old and New Favorites Doilies" was published by the Spool Cotton Company. It shows using J&P Coats or Clark's threads on the projects.

I look for Cool Finds where ever I go and I never know what I’ll run across. I find sewing boxes and so much more and realize that, being vintage, they most likely have been used and will have some wear and tear. Buttons may have come off of a dress, coat or other article of clothing, or they might have never been used at all, like those on the original cards. Books have been handled and gone through over and over.

I describe my items as well as I can for you and do try to point out any flaws of any kind. Please look at the details in the photos above as they are a part of my description. All items are sold as is.

If you have any questions, please let me know as I would be more than happy to answer them.
