Owls are such wise and skillful birds and whilst most are asleep throughout the day, these two will stay awake and alert, taking care of your tea and cake whilst you are busy on other things.
Shown here are the grey heart-speckled variety complete with tartan wings. Flick through the photos and you will spot a couple of pink gingham owls – a previously unknown species reared totally by hand. Like their wildlife counterparts, these owls mate for life and are never far from one another - whilst one owl sits on the moon listening out for a tasty morsel, the other nestles in the hollow of a tree nearby waiting for their supper.
This pattern uses quick-fuse applique and comes with easy-to-follow instructions, colour diagrams and full size applique sheet so you can create your own unique species of feathered friend quickly and easily. Suitable for hand or machine stitching, the finished mug rug will brighten any table or desk. And, as these birds are just as keen on milk and cookies as they are on tea and cake, this mini quilt design would also make the ideal mug rug for a child’s nightstand or nursery.
So feather your nest today with another fun design from the Patchsmith.
