I love to recycle common household objects, particularly tin cans and cardboard tubes and boxes. It's fun to see how fancy an object I can make with just a few materials!
Another source of recycled materials for me is an organization which collects remnants from interior designers–such as wallpaper rolls, decorator fabric samples, trims, rug samples, and so forth–and passes these materials on to artisans for a cash donation.
Made from recycled tin cans and scraps of velvet, cotton, or silk, my Tincusions are 3.25" in diameter and stand about 2.5" high. They are filled with fiberfill, and the bottom has a felt cover. I particularly love the feathers and rhinestone button on this red tincushion. Holds your sewing pins or needles, or your favorite earrings.
More photos will be added as I create more items. Enjoy!
