Antique Japanese silk brocade obi (sash for kimono) handmade 1910
This opulent obi designed as a sash for a traditional kimono, has stunning colors: orange and purple with gold and silver on a beige background. Some of the beige areas have brocade patterns in them as well. Part of the obi is solid beige. The colored areas feature elegant floral patterns.
This obi can be displayed on the wall or from a balcony (as shown), used as a long table runner or window hanging. In the photo it is shown hanging folded in half since, in traditional style, it is attached to itself at one place.
It is an exquisite work of textile art. In excellent condition. There is no fading or wear.
It can also be re-purposed into other apparel, accessory items or works of art.
Can be used to accessorize anime, cosplay or other Japanese costume.
Collectible antique. Art decor (about 1910) Pure silk brocade. Excellent condition.
