This listing is for the PATTERNS ONLY for this lovely glove/beret set. I have been designing patterns for a few years now, many of them inspired by my favorite book series "Outlander" by Diana Gabeldon. These mitts and tam/beret were designed before the Starz original series began airing last year, but I'm just now getting around to publishing the pattern for them (It's a full 7 page PDF, with several photos!) While these are not terribly difficult projects, they aren't a total beginner project either. This pattern involves cable knitting, knitting in the round, increasing and decreasing and magic loop method for the mitts (but only a teeny tiny bit of seaming!). Links to tutorials for the less common techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, I am totally available via Etsy Convo to personally answer any questions you might have. I call this pattern "Malva" for a character in the later books whom I liked very much. The gloves are about 6 1/2" long (16.5 cm) but can easily be made longer if you like. The beret/tam fits average size woman's head between 20"-22" (51-56cm). You can knit the whole set for yourself or as a gift with just 100g (about 250 yards) of DK/light worsted weight yarn! Get started on your Christmas knitting now! If you don't knit and would like me to make the set (or just the gloves, or just the tam) I have one ready made here or you can send me a message and I can probably make just what you are looking for: https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/152109616/outlander-inspired-fingerless-gloves?ref=shop_home_feat_2

I am more than happy to take custom orders. I can create the design in different colors, with different fiber content and even customize many of the patterns to meet your specifications. If there is an item you would like that you don't see in my store, ask ... chances are I have a pattern for it you will love! Keep in mind that my delivery time for custom items is longer, depending on the item and how many commissions I have. I will give you an approiximate time line at time of request.
I make a big effort to show the correct color in my photos, but even then, the color can be slightly off. I can often send you a thumbnail photo of the yarn from the manufacturer if you'd like.
