100% Pure Alpaca Yarn made from my alpacas on my small Colorado farm. Most of the skeins are 100 yards and the thick yarn knits quickly. I have yarn in a variety of colors including white, beige, fawn and chocolate brown. I also have some that was created with two different types of fibers for a heathered look. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Why alpaca? The best grades of alpaca are warmer, softer and stronger than wool and will not pile. Alpaca fibers have a hollow insulating core which enables them to be lightweight yet incredibly warm. Since alpaca fiber lacks lanolin and is naturally hypoallergenic, it is not itchy and can be worn next to the skin. Alpaca fiber was once reserved only for Incan Royalty, and even today is still considered a rare specialty fiber.
Alpaca fibers are all natural, bio-degradable, renewable and are not created with chemicals or petroleum products. Unlike synthetic fibers, alpaca fibers use less chemicals during the production process, which means less chemicals end up in our environment
