This is a digital file
PDF file of 1904, 36 page manual for Willcox & Gibbs Automatic Silent chain stitch machine plus many of my comments, information, and added photos to be helpful with this machine.
Needles for the machine are different, they have a long groove all the way up the shank of the needle. I do also sell needles for this machine, see the needles section.
My first Willcox & Gibbs machine is nicknamed Gibson Girl, because she is of the era and is elegant like the Gibson Girl paintings were.
In 2004 this machine was one of three treadles I took to HGTV’s Simply Quilts show with Alex Anderson, show #923.
It was a good thing I nickname my sewing machines since brand names could not be used during filming even if the Willcox & Gibbs had not been manufactured for about 50 years. Gibson Girl stole the show.
This manual will be very helpful if you own a Willcox & Gibbs chain stitch machine.

"I downloaded your manual and it is wonderful- very helpful- invaluable info for using this lovely old machine. It is reassuring to know that there are people like yourself that are passionate for preserving skills and know how from the past.
Another customer review:
"Exactly, actually much better, than what I was hoping for! Delighted with purchase."
