Included are step-by-step instructions on how to make your own complete, 18th or 19th century silk portrait muff, which includes both a muff cover with portrait design and muff insides:
Materials required, recommended fabrics to use, as well as step-by-step instructions to create first a Muff Cover, like the embroidered silk with Marie Antoinette portrait pictured above, trimmed in silk satin. (Note that the size of fabric to cut out will be clearly outlined with included dimensions in the pattern instructions).
Then step-by-step instructions to create Muff Insides, or Muff Pillow, and then how to put both together. Note, these detail how to create a separate Muff cover and Muff insides (pillow), allowing you endless possibilities of creating many Muff covers, and only one Muff insides.
Also included is a short overview of Muff history, as well as information on 100% white goose down & down/feather blends. Please note that you can purchase a muff insides or muff pillow in my Etsy shop if desired, or create your own muff insides using various available, period-appropriate materials. Once you have one muff insides or muff pillow, you can then use the pattern to make endless amounts of muff covers!

Shipping & policies
Multiple item orders will benefit from combined shipping. If this does not calculate automatically during checkout (Etsy often over calculates on multiple item orders), rest assured that you will receive any shipping overage back, or you can reach out via conversations for an exact shipping estimate. All orders are shipped within 1-3 business days of transaction; please note that we are a one person shop, and ship a minimum of 2-3 times a week (usually 5-7 times a week). Insurance is extra and optional, please message us if interested, we are not liable for items lost or damaged in transit.
If you are looking for an order urgently, please choose a faster method like USPS Priority (2-3 business days within U.S.) or USPS Express (Overnight business usually within U.S.) at additional shipping cost to buyer. I highly recommend sending a conversation if you need an item urgently, as that will help us realize sooner that your order is urgent, and I will accommodate whenever I can. If you are interested in purchasing and shipping outside of the U.S., please message us with your country/city information request if not already in the listing and I may be able to ship to your international destination. Please note that customs forms will be filled out with the items and values from your order. Buyer is responsible for any customs due. International shipping is often delayed and status of USPS First Class International often inaccurate: I highly recommend choosing USPS Priority International or Express International at checkout if you need the order quickly and live overseas. I am not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit; insurance is extra and optional, and would cover these sorts of losses.
Please note that all orders returned to the shop for incomplete or inaccurate addresses will need to pay shipping again with an updated/corrected address provided, before it ships out again. Alternately a refund (minus the original shipping cost) if item is received back in original condition, can be requested.
