This is a Vintage Crock-type pot complete with its matching lid, with a very classic Southwestern design and style to it. It is very heavy duty... hand built coiled pottery that has been turned on a potters wheel, smoothed and glazed. This is definitely bake ware quality... but could also be used as a cookie jar, casserole dish, or a decorative serving container for both hot and cold items.
I estimate it from the early 1980's, and it is definitely hand made using the the distinctive terra cotta type red clay that fires hard and is very durable. I assume it was most likely made here in in Southern Arizona. It is glazed inside and out... only the very bottom is left unglazed, and bears the name of the maker hand-carved into the clay: PFAFF.
The dimensions are 8" in diameter, and 6" high with the lid. It is in very good condition, with no cracks or holes or chips, and only the minimal scuffing on the bottom. Nice dark blue and yellow highlights in the design. The top fits the bottom, and the handles are in tact.
Please study all photos carefully, and ask any questions before making your purchase. The color varies only in the photos due to different light exposures and angles. I have tried to describe this item as accurately as possible.
