This listing is for the download of a PDF sewing pattern to make a quilted and lined western saddle carry bag. It is NOT for a physical paper pattern. The bag unzips all around and has the options of loop handles or an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap.
The western saddle carry bag sitting underneath the English saddle bag in the photo was made by a customer using this pattern. The bags are not for sale. A pattern for the English bag is available in this shop.

The recommended fabric is heavier weight coated nylon Cordura™ but any sturdy and water resistant fabric such as canvas can be used. Consider how your sewing machine will handle all of the layers when purchasing materials and notions. For the lining use high-count nylon taffeta or something simlar. Various weights of quilt batting can be used depending upon how much padding you desire and what your sewing machine can handle. The edge binding should be at least 1 1/2” wide and can be fold-over braid, twill tape, regular seam binding, or you can make your own bias tape from nylon fabric. Where the instructions refer to tape, use nylon or polypropylene webbing or some other sturdy tape. The coil zipper tape and zipper pulls can be purchased from www.therainshed.com or www.seattlefabrics.com.
