Collection of 4 Aussie icons: the kangaroo, the platypus, the kookaburra and the frilly neck lizard.
Lizard: Mouth wide open to catch an insect dinner, frill-necked lizard looks quite life-like; made in grey and red felt; 1/4 yd makes a lizard 17" long.
Kookaburra: Measures 12" from the point of his beak to the tips of his tail feathers.
Platypus: Made with fur fabric or velvet, measures 13" long.
Kangaroo: Mother Kangaroo is 15" tall and carries a joey in her pouch. Make in felt or fabric.
All measurements are in inches, plus British terminology is used.
My pattern is a grid that you will need to enlarge, but hey, computers these days make patterns that are over 40 years old sooo easy. Just enlarge until the squares measure 1 inch. Computers also mean that you can make me in a range of sizes. Plus with being a digital file, if you get too many pin marks, well, just print me off again.
I am handstitched from felt, but there is no reason why I can't be made by from fabric and machine stitched.
If you make from fabric other than felt, allow a 1/4" (6mm) around for seam allowance when cutting out.
