Item details

Dwarves are popular figures from mythology and folklore that are frequently portrayed in modern fantasy books, films and games. Dwarves are short and tough, and often experts in mining and metalwork. This toughness often makes them good at fighting, using weapons such as axes and war hammers. They generally wear practical clothes, and have large, impressive beards.

This 32-page pattern has the details for you to crochet all five dwarves pictured, three male and two female, with different hair styles and clothes, and accessories including helmets and weapons. You can mix and match to make a dwarf look the way you want.

The pattern contains full instructions to make:
A male dwarf with a helmet, and a chainmail shirt under his tunic. He has his long hair pulled back into a braid and has a large beard.

A female warrior dwarf with chainmail over her tunic, fur-topped boots and shoulder armour. She wears a winged helmet and a cloak, and carries a war hammer and a shield.

A male dwarf with a sleeveless coat worn over a tunic and chainmail shirt. He has shorter, loose hair and a smaller beard.

A female dwarf with a practical, split dress, and a red hat. She has long hair in braids.

A male dwarf with spiky red hair, shaved at the sides, and a large beard. His arms are bare, apart from leather wrist guards, and he carries an axe.

The pattern is suitable for crocheters with a little experience. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi. They are written in English using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives. The pattern is a downloadable PDF file and you will need Adobe Reader to open it. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.

Easy to follow pattern. Made one of the male dwarves for my dad as a father's day present and he loved it!

The pattern was well-written and easy to follow. There are a lot of clever design touches which give it character, and the multiple variations make it very versatile.
