Item details

An Advance 2866…a Misses’ Jacket and Skirt Sewing Pattern in Size 14.

The unprinted pattern is cut and all the pieces are there. Piece D, Hip Pocket, has a tear.
The instructions are there but tanned, brittle, and have pinking. The envelope is in fair vintage condition with tanning, foxing, tears and tape. The envelope flap is partially attached. There is no copyright date but following the guide this pattern is 1940s.

There is a pattern piece cut from a newspaper dated July 28, 1946. There are mentions of President Roosevelt calling out troops to take over factories involved in union disputes and mention of Russian tanks moving against the Germans.

I have left in the original newspaper advertisement that was the inspiration to the original seamstress as well as her fabric scrap.

I have not returned the pattern pieces to the envelope.

The Advance Pattern Company was exclusive to J. C. Penney’s and released sewing patterns from 1933 until 1966.

For sizes and yardages please look at the scan of the envelope back.

Don't miss out just because the sizing isn't quite right! Resizing a pattern is simple, instructions may be found here:

All patterns are vintage items and sold…AS IS. Although I maintain a smoke-free and a pet-free studio, I have no control over where items have been previously. I attempt to represent my goods as honestly as possible, but sometimes something will get by. If you have any doubts about an item, E-MAIL ME! I want to make sure that you will be pleased with your purchase. I will make a refund as merchandise credit; buyer pays for return shipments.

Pattern comes in a zip 2 mil. plastic bag and is shipped in an envelope with a cardboard insert. The zip bag is great for storing the pattern!

Please note that I count the pattern pieces unless factory folded, assess the pattern’s condition and press the pattern as necessary. You will never purchase a pattern from me with “It looks like its all there” or ‘Pieces need pressing’.
