A spin-off judge and fantastic spinner friend of mine always says "You can NEVER have too many bobbins!" She makes the most wonderful art yarns and plies so many neat singles together, so her bobbins do get a lot of play:)
In late 2015, Schacht went to plastic cores for their bobbins when they were unable to source the wood they'd used previously. I bought a lot of the original wooden bobbins, which are limited in quantity and available as shown below. The newer bobbins have the wooden ends (either maple or cherry) and a plastic core.
What wheel do you spin on? Here are your bobbin and whorl choices for the Ladybug, Matchless, Flatiron and Sidekick:
Standard Bobbin (no solid wooden bobbins available in either Maple or Cherry. These will all have the plastic core) High Speed Bobbin (If you want the solid wood, choose Hi Spd Maple Wooden or Hi Spd Cherry Wooden - quantities are limited) Travel Bobbin (if you want the wooden ends, choose Travel Bobbin Maple - Cherry is sold out) Bulky Bobbin (if you want all wood in the Cherry bulkies, choose "Bulky Cherry All Wood") - quantities are limited) Schacht-Reeves bobbins are "S-R" in the drop down box at upper right.
Last picture is the Schacht Tensioned Lazy Kate, sold separately in my shop here:
