Five cute cardboard reels of yarn for darning and mending, made by Dorothy, Orient, Perfection and Peri-Luster. 1950s, some deadstock with their full length of yarn, some partly used. Great reddish, brown, umber, autumn fall colours. The yarn and cards are all in good vintage condition, although they have some age-related wear. Perfect for anyone with an interest in embroidery, needlework, sewing, knitting, or indeed just anyone who believes in the phrase Make Do And Mend!
FREE WORLDWIDE POSTAGE on all orders to all countries*, hooray!
I do my best to ship everything within two working days of you hitting 'pay'! 99% of the time, this is totally do-able, but I do have a life and occasionally I'm away from my "office", or there's a public holiday which means no post! I'll do my best to let you know about these issues, though, and your item WILL always get to you as soon as I can make it happen!
Please note, I don't ship on Saturdays as this isn't a working day for me. If you order after noon on a Friday, your item may not be shipped until first thing the following Monday, unless otherwise stated.
*EXCEPT for unusually heavy items. I'm sorry! Larger housewares and collectables have a higher rate of return and cost more to ship. I try to keep the shipping costs as low as possible, though.
Please feel free to convo me with any questions about shipping!
Returns & exchanges
If an item doesn't reach you, let me know, and I'll investigate with the UK's Royal Mail, via whom I dispatch all my orders. However, please allow 28 days for your item to arrive -- sometimes the post is just slow! (NB: It will be slower still during holidays and if there are postal strikes happening!) Usually, it takes 10-14 working days (not counting Saturdays) for items to reach the USA, Canada or Australia from the UK. The time will vary for other destinations!
I'm afraid I can't offer a refund for goods lost or damaged in transit (but feel free to call the aforementioned Royal Mail and/or your local postal service and give them a talking-to!).
I will accept returns on all items provided they come back to me in the same condition as I sent them! If you want to return your item, please contact me first and let me know. I'll refund the full cost of the item once I have received it back safely. (Please note, all outbound postage from my store is free, so the return postage price is the buyer's responsibility.)
All customs charges and other additional delivery charges lie with the customer, not with Edinburgh Vintage. Sorry!
Please note that all the items I sell are vintage. I do my best to point out any obvious flaws on the items in their descriptions. But they are OLD, so some general, minor wear and tear should always be expected.
EV is a planet-friendly store, so I do my best to use re-used and recycled packaging as much as possible.
If you're unhappy, uncertain, or just want to say hello, please, please get in touch! If you have any queries or suggestions -- send me a convo! I'm always happy to hear from you.
