Pure Davana Essential Oil (Artemisia pallens) in a boston round bottle with an orifice reducer for individual drops. Bottle also has a tamper evident cap.
Perfumers use Davana essential oil to "fix" fragrance. This means a tiny amount added to a fragrance will add subtle and complicated undertones to the fragrance, but more importantly it makes the fragrance last much longer on the wearer.
Further, Davana essential oil causes fragrances to change with each person's body chemistry, allowing the original fragrance to have a different scent on each wearer, with a fragrance that is thought to be more pleasing than the original.
For example: I make an immunity support blend using Holy Basil (Tulsi) EO among others. This fragrance of this blend can be overpowering, so I put a little Davana into the mix. The end result is that it smells like vanilla and honey on me, green apples on my 9 year old son, and Issey Miyaki perfume on a friend of mine. The fragrance changes so much because of the 6 drops of Davana I included in the 1 ounce bottle of blend.
I use Davana when a blend's scent is mildly unpleasant or annoying. Rather than gritting my teeth and using the unpleasant fragrance, I add a few drops of Davana (only 5-10 drops per 30 mL). Not only does it make the fragrance better in the bottle, but it also adapts to each wearer (it takes about 30 minutes or so). It can be an extremely pleasant surprise how great a blend can become after using Davana.
Davana Essential oil is also considered a perfume "fixative" this means it preserves the final fragrance for a very long time and also helps the fragrance last a long time on each wearer. Davana essential oil IS NOT KNOWN FOR HAVING A PLEASANT FRAGRANCE on it's own. Rather, Davana's fragrance is usually described as unpleasant and having a musty, woody, rotten-fermented fruit or wine fragrance. I think there is a hint of medicinal odor, as well. I, personally, also smell a strong note of damp pipe tobacco (before it is used in a pipe).
This is a quirky essential oil that I consider a MUST HAVE if you are interested in making fragrances or if you, like myself, make therapeutic blends, but you are sensitive to unpleasant or annoying odors. Davana has the odd habit of correcting something that isn't quite right even though it doesn't smell good on it's own! A little bit of Davana goes a long way and it lasts a long, long time on the shelf.
Unless you choose otherwise, shipping is done via USPS First Class Mail (to avoid exorbitant Priority Mail shipping charges). I will ALWAYS pay for a "return-receipt" for my shipping to prove the item was delivered. Unfortunately, this adds an extra $0.75 to each shipment.
Any item MUST BE RETURNED at your expense to receive a full refund (including a full refund of your ORIGINAL SHIPPING CHARGES).
Regarding international customers: Most of the items I sell are hand poured by me. I am a sole practitioner, this means I don't buy in enough volume to give cheap prices. Unfortunately, while I stand by the great quality of my product, I can't give low shipping or free shipping most of the time. Canadian shipping charges are much higher than US shipping charges, so, unless you are willing to pay the full price for Canadian or International shipping rate, I don't offer this service. Please contact me, if you are interested in international shipping. Thanks.

Returns & exchanges
I am happy to refund up to 7 calendar days after receipt of your purchase if you notify me via Etsy email that you would like a refund. All purchases are shipped with "return receipt" from the USPS, so your 7 day window to return does not start until after verified delivery of your item(s).
After 7 calendar days of receipt of your merchandise, I cannot refund.
I am sorry in advance if this causes you trouble, but I have had purchasers claim non-receipt and expect full refund 74 DAYS AFTER SHIPMENT. I am with you, I couldn't believe it either! But until I actually made my policy no refunds after 7 days, I was expected to refund 79 days past purchase date for ANY REASON WHATSOEVER! OMG!
Unfortunately, a few bad apples spoil the whole pie, so I was forced to create this as a strict guideline regarding shipping and refunding. :(
If you have a specific problem or issue, please contact me as soon as possible, so that I may address your specific issue.
Any discounts given for whatever reason will appear as a REFUND to your account and may take a day or two to post.
