So, here we have a lot of 10 pieces of genuine vintage pale blue dyed Japanese cultured Akoya pearls that when temporarily strung come out to about 3.5 inches long. Several years ago in an effort to find blue Japanese cultured Akoya pearls more affordably (production and availability are way down these days making prices go up) I began buying up vintage necklaces and taking them apart. These pearls came from such a necklace and date to about the 50s or 60s.
These pearls average 8.5mm and are only very slightly baroque, so kind of nicely near round. The dye job was not the greatest on these so the color is quite pale and the dye stuck to tiny blemishes in the nacre causing tiny spots of dark blue on the the majority of pearls, at least you know they won't fade any more :) The luster and orient on these pearls is nice on some but a little lacking on some. The primary photo was taken with natural light, the rest were taken under daylight adjusted fluorescent lighting. Industry standards for nacre thickness on cultured Akoya pearls is .25mm.
I have three lots available and am selling them way below my cost. If there is a certain strand you want I can try to accommodate that so let me know via a convo, if less than three strands are remaining convo me first to see if your first choice is available still, or just buy them all :)
Sorry, no free shipping on destash items as I am already taking a huge loss on these.
