Although Fairies come from a variety of habitats, the general practice of catching and dispatching them are quite similar. They can be drawn in by the smell of toadstools, children’s laughter, fresh flowers or crystal clear running water. Fairies must be netted or snared, but care must be taken not to injure them during capture as injury will spoil them quickly. They may also bite. Once dead, by the next quarter moon, the flesh will disintegrate and all that will remain will be the glittering skeletons, which is the only form they are of use with the exception of the wings. Fairy bones can be used to alter size, change transparency and brewed in a tea (recipe can be found in the latter part of this book) will prolong life or heal the mortally wounded if the tea is poured directly on the wound. Fairy bones can be used to regenerate limbs if bones are ground with mortar and pestle.
