Item details

Pdf pattern for knitting these cute mummy and baby toy kangaroos. Designed for confident beginners, this pattern is worked in rows only and uses simple increasing and decreasing techniques in stocking/stockinette stitch. Pattern includes a page of Knitting Abbreviations.

Would make a perfect gift for an expectant mum, because of the adorable way that kangaroos carry their young joeys in their pouches. Once made, the baby fits inside the mummy’s pouch. The pair are quite straightforward to make and the fluffy finish to the yarn is perfect for the kangaroo fur.

You will need:
• Chunky textured yarn – I used Sirdar Persia Chunky (52% wool, 42% acrylic, 6% nylon, 50g/85m), 2 balls of Brown (404), 1 ball of Beige (402).
• Plus oddments of dark brown or black DK yarn.
• A pair of 4mm (US 6) needles.
• 100g of toy stuffing
• 1 pipe cleaner
• 2 drinking straws (with a bend in them)
• Tapestry needle

The finished Mummy Kangaroo measures 22cm/8½in tall.
The finished Baby Kangaroo measures 11cm/4¼in tall.
