This kit is for making a necklace, using a large acorn cap and horsehair. It is called the "Acorn Chime Necklace" because a tiny jingle bell captured within the necklace makes a soft tinkling sound while you wear it.
The technique is called coiling, and it is a very ancient technique.
In order to make this miniature, you need to have good eyesight, or magnification, and good manual dexterity. It requires use of a needle and good pincher (clasping between thumb and index finger) I say this because i have taught a good number of basketmaking classes, and there are many people with arthritis or injuries to their hands who do not have these skills. It is also necessary to have good light (sunlight or lamp) and Patience!
