Item details

This Mini Horns of My Dilemma carved bone double drilled crescent bead is a 20mm version of a bead developed for those wanting to make cuffs or bracelets.

While I chose the name for the listing here, double horn or crescent moon are names also used to describe this potent carving.

Please note that this listing is for one piece only. I have more stock of these on the way. Please convo me for an update.

Each bead is carved both sides with a smooth curved surface, and has two holes as shown in my photos.

There's also an undrilled version or one with just one hole through the mid-section.

You'll find all the double horn listings here -

BACK STORY
Mekepung or bull races are held in the west Bali regency of Jembrana from July to October each year.

Madurese migrants introduced the sport to celebrate the end of the rice harvest, and it has become a tourist attraction for one of the least visited regencies on the Island of the Gods.

While I'm not a fan of the use of animals for this type of sport and have never actually seen one of these events, the races are said to be thrilling contests between teams of two young water buffalo harnessed to a chariot .

The chariot is ridden by a jockey who holds onto the bulls' tails as they career down a 2km race course, kicking up dust and sweat.

The water buffalo used in these races are said to be treated with great care, and are fed elaborate diets containing "all sorts of wonderful potions and secret ingredients".

Most of the races happen outside the regency capital of Negara, next to a river estuary in the location of Parancak.
