This is a group of 50 used British 5p postage stamps, with cancelation marks varying from very light to moderately heavy. The stamp was issued in 1971, and collectors refer to it as Machin Head 50, as it features the Arnold Machin 1964 effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
These stamps were gently soaked off their envelopes and are without creases or tears. They are free from adhesive on their backs
My Uncle Joe was born with dysmelia in the 1930s. As part of his physical therapy, he did crafts and collected postage stamps. He remained fascinated with stamps and went on to become a postmaster in Texas. My way of honoring my uncle is to recycle these stamps into the arts and crafts community so that others can enjoy them as much as he did.
