This is a vintage ornate miniature picture frame with the original printed photo still inside the frame. The photo is a Victorian style print of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. The frame was made by Syroco in the 1950s. This is an earlier version of the frame as there is no makers mark and the imprint on the back was done letter by letter with 2 of the letters actually printed backwards. The frame has been hand painted a beautiful gloss white that compliments the print inside. Although the original print is inside the frame, it can be removed as this is a working picture frame. The frame accommodates a picture size of 3 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches.
This beautiful ornate style frame has "made in Hong Kong" on the back as shown in the product photos. It is made from a thick plastic mixture, a mixture which Syroco was famous for. The total frame measures 7 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide. The frame window is made of glass and the backing is made from the same plastic mixture as the exterior of the frame. The back of the frame attaches with two slide style tabs that open and close the frame by pulling up on the tabs to open and pushing down on the tabs to close. The wall hanger is built in to the back of the frame and will accommodate all normal hanging hardware.
This frame is unusual because of the misprinted lettering on the back as well as having the original photo which is rarely seen with this early piece.
