Stately white oak nostepinne, with dark brown accenting grain filler, and a satin finish. Nostepinnes are used to make center pulled balls of yarn. They were used long before mechanical yarn winders came along, and many still use them today, preferring them for their simplicity and portability. Even though this nostepinne is brand new, the finish looks well seasoned to me, as if it could tell tales of the miles of yarn wound upon it. And miles of yarn will be wound on it, tales of your making. Like all of my turned items, this nostepinne was made using only my foot powered pole lathe and a few hand tools. I think you'll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it!
