This is a beautiful vintage rayon ribbon! The bright white moire is finished with a satin edge. This vintage Swiss ribbon is 3" wide and has a soft hand.
Moire, or watermark, patterning is one of the oldest treatments to give a textile more surface interest, making this ribbon appropriate for every era from Elizabethan onwards. Consider this for all the usual places you would use a ribbon, such as on a hat trim, around a locket, or on another small detail. The width is especially appropriate for headwear of the 19th century.
This listing is priced by the yard. Please note that all ribbons are sold as-is. Vintage items are inspected before listing, and if flaws are considerable enough to affect their use, they will be noted in the listing and priced accordingly. Otherwise, please understand that light soiling or slight irregularities are not to be considered defects, but part of the patina that gives these vintage items their charm.
