Item details

This blade is made from 1095 steel and 15n20. As you may know, 1095 is a traditional and sought after American high carbon steel that is prized for knife blades. It is hardened to about 57-60 on the Rockwell C scale (HRC). This blade is a serious blade that will work well for hunting and fishing. It can be easily sharpened at home or in the field, and will hold an edge very well.

It is genuine layered damascus steel (not fake or imitation damascus).

Blank may require additional sharpening.

Blank file-work may vary or be absent. We try to keep them all consistent but sometimes the file-work may vary or be absent.

Took this nice blade to the next level with a resin handle. Highly recommended as it's has beautiful pattern. Wish it is thicker though.

The raindrop pattern is very nice but there are some small crevices on my blade that look like little scars. Otherwise a fine piece of Damascus. The pattern on the spine is random, I thought I bought a specific one but I in fact did not.

Got this in the mail and was really excited to get started making the knife and I finally got it out of the packaging and the first think I saw was that the edge out of the box had already been rolled towards the end of the blade showing how soft the steel was, took it to a belt sander with a fine grit belt to try and fix the edge and it immediate rolled again. I eventually fixed it. Also to note when looking down the blade I can see a bend in the spine towards the point as well. And lastly there's a medium sized pit on the right side of the blade as well. Not very happy with this product, but I'll improvise, adapt, and overcome.
