What is “batik”? Batik is a technique for dying fabric using wax to create patterns. It is currently really popular in the quilting community because of the beautiful patterns and vibrant colours. The batiks sold by Fabrics From Earth are all modern designs with modern bright colours. For more information see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batik
Why do my fabrics look different to the pictures? Due to the way the fabric is dyed, there will always be great variation in colours. We do our best to ensure that the pictures used to advertise the fabric are good representations of the colours and patterns. We also cannot control for all the variations in device screens; for optimal viewing we recommend using Apple devices.
Do I need to pre-wash the fabric? We strongly recommend that you wash the fabric before you use it. Due to the dying process, sometimes some wax may be stuck to the fabric. Also, by pre-washing the fabric you ensure that the colours won’t run.
