A matching set of door handles that are hand forged from solid 3/4" square bar.
The metal is heated and hammered into shape on an anvil. A backing plate is heated and covered with hammer marks before being welded on to the handles, which gives the finished product a lot more character. They are coated multiple times with a clear enamel to prevent rusting.
Here is a short video I made while blacksmithing a slightly different set of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQmSsXzYBWs
The backing plate on the handles pictured are 12"x3", but I can make them different sizes if desired. I have quite a few of these already made that are ready to go, but designs of different styles and requirements can be forged and shipped in a couple weeks.
Also, I have different methods of attaching the handles, depending on the customers preference. One method is counter sunk holes in the front backing plate with screws to be directly screwed into the door from the front (screws provided). Another option is 2 or 3 bolts will be welded onto the back of the plate that will go through the door and tightened from the backside of the door (maintaining a clean look on the front).
Since all handles are hand forged, they are all slightly unique and different from one another. But they maintain very similar dimensions and match each other very nicely. Although handles are coated multiple times with a clear enamel, they will likely develop a little rust over years if exposed to the elements.
