Shipping & policies
Items are mailed via the United States Postal Service using the most economical and/or safest way possible. Sometimes priority flat rate is the best way to go to depending on size, weight or fragility of the piece. Don't hesitate to ask if a less expensive shipping method is available, but when doing so please include your zip code.
Please contact me if you are interested in insuring your item or have any shipping concerns.
If you are interested in ordering multiple items, please contact me with the items you would like and your zip code so I may figure the correct shipping cost.
I use clean recycled shipping boxes when I can with clean recycled packing materials. Some things might get mailed in a Tyvek envelope.
At times, postage charged might be more than actual cost. If there is a difference of more than $3, I will refund that difference via PayPal.
Please note: To save trees and other resources, I do not include a printed receipt in your package unless you ask for one.
Immediate payment is expected. If payment has not been made by the end of the second day after purchase, the item will be re-listed.
Returns & exchanges
All items sold through Top of the Heap are vintage/used so there is likely some wear. Items may not be 100% free of minor defects, as they have lived a life prior to finding their way to you. I sell only clean vintage pieces that I find in good to excellent condition, or items so special they are worth saving from a landfill. Any imperfections are described to the best of my knowledge. Remember, it's "top of the heap," not "new from the store"!
Please don't ever hesitate to ask questions or request more photos.
