My most popular item over many years of pottery making! This little mixing bowl is great for beating up a few eggs in the morning, mixing and heating sauces and gravies, melting chocolate in the microwave, combining dry or wet ingredients before adding to a recipe, or preparing and whisking vinaigrette--just to name a few possibilities! The pouring lip makes for neat and tidy transfer of contents.
While this piece is the ultimate in functionality, it looks great on the dining table too.
I formed the bowl on the potter's wheel using stoneware clay. I imprinted my initials in the soft clay before drying. Later I applied a soft blue glaze and added cobalt near the rims before firing to the final temperature. The finished piece is smooth to the touch, easy to clean, and can handle the oven, microwave and dishwasher. The raised foot rim reveals the speckled ivory stoneware.
The bowl is 3 inches tall and 5½ inches wide at the top rim. A six inch wire whisk with wood handle is included.
