Here we have a hand thrown, high-fired medium size pie pan with a rather unusual collage of a dragonfly wing and grasses. I've been having fun with exaggerated, zoomed in, up-close details of patterns in nature. Both of the images started with photos I took while strolling around the grounds of my studio. I got the idea for this arrangement when I saw a dragonfly flitting around in a patch of wild grasses and decided to use the inner surface of a pie pan as a canvas for my print. I applied a clear glaze and wax resist over the print to preserve the details, used a trimming tool to slightly gouge a strip along both edges, giving it a frame of sorts.. dipped the whole piece in the contrasting blue rutile glaze and voila... functional kitchen art!
This is my in-between size of pie dish. It measures 8 1/2" inches across and 2" tall. It has a shallow bowl kind of shape, so maybe it should be called a "deep dish" pie pan... I made it with baking in mind but it certainly can be used for other things! It makes a great chef's salad bowl or a serving dish, popcorn bowl (for one, if you eat as much popcorn as I do :)) ... Stoneware clay is wonderful to bake, roast, or microwave your favorite recipes. It heats evenly, keeps food warm when served, and cleanup is a breeze. Food seems to look and taste better when served from stoneware. Seriously, it does!

Shipping & policies
I ship most orders USPS Priority Mail. Packages get to you in 2-3 days and are handled less than with parcel post. They get a better conveyor belt according to my mail lady. One that doesn't drop them from a 2-story building :-) Another advantage is they come with a tracking # and insurance.
I take pride in my packaging but once in a great while something breaks. If that should happen I'd like to see a picture of it, so I can possibly learn what went wrong. I have never dealt making an insurance claim because up until recently insurance wasn't included. I will either send a replacement at no charge or refund your full amount.
Credit cards are most convenient. PayPal and credit cards are now linked. Hardly anyone uses them anymore, but I also accept checks. Not a problem!
