This is an easy sewing pattern to follow with instructions, diagrams and photographs to make your own shopping bags. There are two sizes of lined shopping bags and one unlined fold away bag. Handy to keep in your handbag, within its own little case. You can use fabrics such as cottons, cotton mixes, canvas, oilcloth or even hessian. You could even make do and mend using old curtains. For the linings and fold away bag I would suggest cotton or poly cotton fabrics. I used heavyweight iron-on interfacing which helped give body to the bags and made them ‘stand alone’. You can have fun with fabrics by using contrasting linings and handles.
