Item details

- 8x10 solid wood picture frame - the frame pictured is the one you will receive
- 1-1/4" poplar moulding dyed deep umber and sealed with lacquer
- Hand-rubbed wax finish
- Glass and backing are held in with flexible tabs for easy installation
- Your choice of standing or hanging frame, with easel back OR hanging hardware applied to your specified orientation - horizontal or vertical
- Easy to follow instruction sheet included

This 8x10 umber frame is the perfect frame for your photo or print! It was made from 1-1/4" poplar moulding, and hand dyed a rich umber. The color was sealed with two coats of lacquer, and the frame was given a hand-rubbed wax finish to enhance the depth of the color and the beauty of the wood grain.

The drop-down menu allows you to choose your display style - whether you want the frame to stand or to hang, and if hanging, which orientation. If you want the frame to stand, an easel will be included which will allow the frame to stand horizontally or vertically. If you want the frame to hang, it will have foamcore backing and hanging hardware applied vertically or horizontally. The glass and foamcore (or easel) are held in with flexible metal tabs to allow for easy installation.

The measurements reference the opening in the back of the frame as well as the size of the glass and backing. From the front, however, it does show a little less. The dimension of the front opening is approximately 7-1/2” x 9-1/2”. It is common for a frame to cover about 1/4" of the image at the edge, and most images do look fine that way. However, if you need a frame that is cut to ensure that you do not cover any of the image, please feel free to contact me and have something custom made just for you. I'm happy to help and always respond quickly. If you want to send me a picture of the piece you're trying to frame, we'll work together to find the solution that's right for you.

Your frame will arrive safely packaged with 100% recyclable materials.

FAQs

Traditionally, you choose the frame size based on the dimensions of your picture. If you have a 4x6 picture, you buy a 4x6 frame, and it will have a 4x6 opening in the back that holds your glass, picture and backing. From the front, however, you will see a little less, as the lip of the frame covers approximately 1/4" of the image all the way around. If you have an image where you're worried about covering too much of the edge, feel free to message me. I can create what is known as a SIGHT OPENING which will be cut to cover only 1/16" of the image all the way around - this should ensure that you don't see any of the backing material. For these, please note that you should purchase the next size up. Otherwise, there is no additional charge.

I'm happy to include a mat in your frame, but I do not sell mats on their own. Please visit this section to add one to your order - https://www.etsy.com/shop/AllForShowFraming?section_id=18880661 In general, you want a mat that is at least 1-1/2" inches wide, and 2" inches or more is generally more pleasing. For a 4x6 or 5x7 picture, you'd want an 8x10 frame and mat. For an 8x10 picture, you'd want a 12x14 frame. Feel free to message me if you need help making your selection.

I absolutely make custom sized frames, and at no additional charge! I'll usually have you purchase your desired style of frame in the size nearest to what you need (rounded up). For example, if you need a 12x14 to accommodate a matted 8x10 print, you'd purchase the 12x16 frame and mat. If you need a 4x10 frame, that that prices the same as a 6x8. If you need a 13-3/4 x 19-1/2, you'd purchase the 16x20. As always, though, if you're not sure about what you need, feel free to message me! I'm always happy to help.

I sure can, but I can't necessarily ship it. The largest size frame I'm willing to ship - WITH glass - is 18x24 or 20x20. The largest size frame I'm willing to ship - WITHOUT glass - is 20x24 or 24x24. I do not offer Plexiglas, nor will I ship any frame larger than the sizes stated here. All that being said, if you're willing to do a local pickup in Chicago (60647), then I can make any size frame you want! Message me for pricing.
