The idea for this blanket came to me as the nights started to darken, the air got colder and I felt the need to work on something bright and cheerful. I happened to have some yellow and turquoise DK cotton and felt the combination to be very evocative of summer. Of course this will work just as well in one colour or alternative colour ways to those I've chosen. The size of the blanket is easily adapted by modifying the number of repeat stitches you cast on (10 stitches in the repeat) and adjusting the length you knit to.
Recommended materials: 7 x 50g DK ply yarn, 4mm circular needles.
I used Rico Design Essentials Cotton DK - Turquoise (033) 4 x 50g balls and Rico Design Essentials Cotton DK - Banana (063) 3 x 50 g balls in the example shown.
