I cut lots of Van Gogh glass here in my shop, and sometimes it doesn't do exactly what I want it to. When that happens, I put the odd bits in a separate bin. The result is an amazing mix of colors and angular shapes: a glass party! I love this stuff, and I think you will too.

Van Gogh glass is clear glue chip glass which has been painted on the textured (bottom) side. The top side is flat and smooth, like window glass. The bottom surface is sprayed with various metallic paints, then sealed with a black paint on the back. These tiles are the same thickness as the other stained glass tiles I sell, and are opaque when laid on an opaque, solid surface.
A pound of confetti will cover approximately 100 square inches (about 0.7 square feet) before allowing for grout spaces. The photos above show a representative one-pound lot, and close-ups, in a couple of different lighting conditions. No two lots will be exactly alike, and the number of pieces in each lot will vary, but each is guaranteed to have lots of gorgeous colors.
You may find score marks or a bit of flaking along the edge of a few of these pieces. You'll also find occasional perfect diamonds and squares. Sizes and shapes of the pieces vary, but most have one dimension that measures 1/2", so it actually looks rather cohesive.
Not recommended for glass-on-glass mosaics, or back-lit stained glass projects as the colors wash out and turn gray when light passes through.
If used in a mosaic that will come in contact with moisture, both the grout and the back of Van Gogh glass must be well-sealed to prevent separation of the paint from the glass.
Do not submerge or use harsh cleaners as it will damage colored coating.
It is very difficult to capture the detail and color of Van Gogh glass, but I do my best. Please understand that the colors in this listing look accurate to me, but may appear differently to you, depending on your monitor type and settings.
In order to avoid scratching them, these tiles are not tumbled, and therefore may have an occasional sharp edge. Please keep them out of reach of children and pets.
