Chai tea is so warm and yummy! I learned the recipe from a Nepali friend who made it for me one day. I was visiting her and as soon as I had a sip, I knew I HAD to have the recipe.
The recipe she gave me uses the exotic whole spices and Himalayan black Tokla tea. The whole spices are so fragrant and beautiful!! I love the colors, and I feel like a Forest Fairy as I stir the pot.
Another thing I love about this recipe is that it uses Jaggery sugar, which is an Indian sugar that isn't messed with like regular white sugar is. They basically press it out, and leave it alone. I love that! It's a gorgeous caramel color and gives the tea it's classic, delicious toasted shade.
This recipe also works for VEGANS because, instead of milk, you can use any dairy-replacement. Some of my customers use Almond milk, coconut milk, and one customer even soaked some cashews and then blended them up into a cream! Anyway, the point is, this Chai is super delicious, super authentic, and super-you-should-get-it.
Each kit makes 4 teacups or 2 coffee cups of delicious chai! You can make it up and store it in the fridge if you don't want that much at a time.
(Note: iced chai is just as delicious as hot chai. It's creamy and refreshing and makes me feel like I'm on vacation.)
