My colorful seam rippers make the perfect gift for someone who loves to sew, because sooner or later we all have to remove stitches that we either sew by mistake, or when we alter a piece of clothing. The tiny point of the seam ripper slips under a sewn stitch and the ripper cuts it with the sharp U-shaped edge. It's an indispensable sewing tool.
I covered the handles of these sturdy Dritz seam rippers with smooth polymer clay inlaid with polymer clay canework in checks, stars, spirals, leaves, flowers -- even honeybees! The designs are not painted on; they are actually constructed of the clay itself, then each cane is carefully sliced, and the slices applied and embedded into the base clay. Any tiny specks you see are microglitter which sparkles in the light. Choose from color list. I made two of each color, but cannot guarantee that is the number I will have when you select yours. If you select light blue you will get a light blue seam ripper; while I used the same canework on each blue ripper, the canework placement may be slightly different that what is pictured. That is the charm of handmade items. They are 5 5/8" long (14.3 cm) and each has a clear lid.
After curing, I wet sanded each tool handle by hand with 400 and 600 sandpaper, and then buffed it with a soft cotton wheel on my Dremel tool for a lovely, smooth shine. The clay is a seamless, satiny smooth shaft of color and pattern with no parts to snag your fabrics. They are easy on the hands as well. It's always good to have tools that do their job, but it's much more fun when they are gorgeous miniature works of art as well. These make wonderful gifts forquiltmakers, seamstresses, and clothing upcyclers.

Care of rosaries and chaplets: store in a protective container like a small leather or velvet bag, sturdy coin purse, or small tin box, especially if you carry them in your pocket, purse or backpack. Do not yank the rosary out of a purse or backpack by the cross or the beaded wire; it could break. Treat them as works of art; show them respect as artisan-made religious items. They will serve you well. For ages 16+.
Mezuzahs come without a scroll. Scrolls can be ordered from www.jewishsource.com.
