Named for a German mining engineer, Sigmund August Wolfgang von Herder (1776–1838) by the noted geologist Wilhelm Haidinger in 1829, Herderite is a phosphate from the same mineral family as Apatite and occurs as colourless, yellow or pale green crystals.
A fine example of a rare collectors gemstone.
